Thank you for visiting Argent Modus Magazine. Protecting your personal data is important to us. Below we inform you, in accordance with Art. 13 UK GDPR, about the processing of personal data when visiting this website.

2. Your rights

You have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller regarding your personal data: right of access (Art. 15 UK GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ico.org.uk. Visitors from the EU may alternatively contact their local data protection authority.

3. Hosting and delivery of the website (Lovable)

This website is hosted on the Lovable platform (Lovable AB, Stockholm, Sweden). Delivery takes place via the edge network of Cloudflare. With each request, technically necessary server log files are processed:

  • IP address of the requesting device (shortened or stored only briefly)
  • Date and time of the request
  • Requested URL, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred
  • Browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL

Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f UK GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation of the website). Hosting and content delivery may involve transfers outside the UK, safeguarded by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and standard contractual clauses.

4. Backend and database (Lovable Cloud / Supabase)

Content (articles, author profiles, categories, media) is provided via Lovable Cloud, which is technically based on Supabase (Supabase Inc.). When retrieving content, technically required connection data (including IP address) is processed. There are no user accounts for visitors and no registration. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. f UK GDPR.

5. Images and media (Lovable Storage)

Images and other media files are delivered via the object storage of Lovable Cloud. Here too, the IP address of the requesting browser is processed for technical reasons.

6. Embedded third-party content (social media, video)

Some articles on this site contain embedded content from third-party providers, such as Instagram posts, YouTube videos, or posts from X (formerly Twitter). When you open a page with such embeds, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective provider. The provider may collect your IP address, browser settings, and possibly cookies or similar storage technologies, even if you do not click the embedded content and do not have a user account with the service. This data processing is carried out solely by the respective provider under their own responsibility. We have no influence on the scope of the data collected. 7. Google Fonts

This website loads fonts via the CDN of Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin). When the page is loaded, your IP address is transmitted to Google. A data transfer to the USA cannot be entirely ruled out. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. a UK GDPR (consent via the cookie / consent banner). You can withdraw your consent at any time by .

8. Cookies

We only use strictly necessary storage mechanisms. Specifically, we store your cookie decision in your browser's localStorage under the key amm-cookie-consent so the banner does not reappear on every visit. No tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies are set without your explicit consent. Legal basis: Regulation 6 (4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary storage, and Art. 6 (1) lit. f UK GDPR.

9. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide to handle your request. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. b or f UK GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to answer your request and no statutory retention obligations apply.

10. Personal data in editorial content (journalism)

Our articles are journalistic work. They may name individuals, quote statements, and reproduce photographs, screenshots, or embedded posts in which people can be identified. Where this involves personal data, we process it for the special purpose of journalism. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f UK GDPR, our legitimate interest in freedom of expression and information, together with the exemption for the special purposes in Schedule 2, Part 5 of the Data Protection Act 2018. Sources are third party material such as press releases, public statements, social media posts, interviews, and information supplied to us directly.

The journalism exemption can limit some of the rights listed in section 2 where applying them would be incompatible with publication. We still review every request individually. If you believe an article contains information about you that is inaccurate, outdated, or should not be public, write to gjhaineswriter@gmail.com. We correct or update articles where a complaint is justified, and we note significant corrections on the article itself.

Published articles remain available in our archive indefinitely, because a news archive loses its purpose if it is edited retrospectively without cause. Requests for removal from the archive are assessed case by case, balancing your interests against the public interest in the record.

11. Third-party material in articles (images, quotes, embeds)

We use third-party material only where we hold a licence, where the rights holder has given permission, where the material is published under a licence that permits reuse, or where use is covered by fair dealing for the purpose of reporting current events, criticism, review, or quotation under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Photographs, screenshots, and social media posts are credited to their source where a source is known. Embedded posts are loaded from the original platform rather than copied, see section 6.

If you are a rights holder and believe material of yours has been used here without a proper basis, contact gjhaineswriter@gmail.com with a description of the material and the page it appears on. We review such notices promptly and remove or credit the material where the complaint is justified.

12. Editorial accounts

Our editors sign in to a private publishing area to write and manage articles. For these accounts we process an email address, a display name, an optional biography and profile picture, and authentication data. Author name, biography, and picture are published alongside the articles. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. b UK GDPR for the working relationship and Art. 6 (1) lit. f UK GDPR for operating the site securely. Account data is deleted when an editor leaves and the account is closed. Visitors do not need an account and cannot register.

13. External links (Instagram, Linktree, etc.)

This website contains links to external services (e.g. tablehammer.com/linktree). Data is only transmitted to the respective provider when you click such a link. Please see the privacy notices of the respective provider.

14. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address bar of your browser (https://).

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We update this Privacy Policy whenever changes to our data processing make it necessary. The version available on this page applies at any given time.
